The history of the worldwide famous Japanese design competition, Good Design Award, can be dated back to 1957, when the Japan Institute of Design Promotion first setup the Good Design Award System. Over the past 59 year, over 43,000 excellent works were awarded of such honor, as they have enrich our life, industry, and society as a whole, and were evaluated by their design ideas, details, and concepts conveyed to the public. This year, applications from different fields, such as home appliance, car, industrial good, house and architecture, as well as intangible product like service, public relation, regional development effort, business model, and much more have been selected, including DA.AI’s Recycle to Recycle (R2R) Project.

In this year’s Good Design Award, DA.AI applied the Social Contribution for Industry category with its earth-protecting R2R Project. Through this famous international competition, DA.AI can display this innovative design and technology of eco-textile industry, communicate the “zero waste” concept, and connect the sincere love and recognition from people all over the world. DA.AI has successfully recycled and turned discarded eco fabric back to its PET chip form, and thus, new eco fabric and blanket made from recycled Re-PET are now possible. In conclusion, even Re-PET material stays in a closed loop and is never thrown away.

As we awaits Good Design Award to announce the 2016 winners in October, as well as related news, exhibition, and yearbook publication, DA.AI, being the only brand that demonstrates 100% green eco-textile end products in Taiwan, will continue on this zero waste path.
