A green Christmas

Although there was no white Christmas in Taiwan, the arrival of a cold front made the weather chilly even without the snow. Regardless of the cold spell, people were in the holiday mood, and in Taoyuan, a green fashion show, hosted by Da Ai Technology, attracted a huge crowd, who came to see the environmentally friendly clothes, and a white Christmas tree built from more than 100 plastic bottles.

2011,Nov.,Water Footprint Certification from TÜV Rheinland Group, Germany

Water footprint (also known as virtual water) is used to calculate water consumption during product manufacturing process. Just like the concept of carbon footprint, water footprint represents the total water consumption by a specific product.
DA.AI’s gray Eco Blanket is the designated blanket for international disaster relief use by the Tzu Chi Foundation. The gray ECO Blanket has received the world’s first Water Footprint Certification for blankets. Uwe Halstenbach, General Manager of the TÜV Rheinland Group, Taiwan branch, stated that water footprint is a new issue, and DA.AI Technology is a trail blazer in the textile industry!
Generally, the amount of water consumption for producing a cotton T-shirt is 2,700 liters. Although DA.AI’s gray Eco Blanket is much bigger and heavier than a cotton T-shirt, the blanket consumes only 643 liters of water during the production process, which is only a quarter of water consumption amount as compared to a cotton T-shirt. DA.AI’s gray Eco Blanket not only provides immediate relief to disaster survivors around the world, it is also an international symbol of love and green living.

Da Ai Technology: 3 years old

Water Footprint Certification: The One and Only in the World

DA.AI Technology celebrated its third anniversary with Tzu Chi Foundation’s recycling volunteers from all over Taiwan and guests from the textile industry. Mr. Shen Shihong, the Director of Taiwan EPA, also attended the celebration event. Meanwhile, representatives from the TÜV Rheinland Group flew from Germany to Taiwan on December 10, 2011 to present the world’s first Water Footprint Certification in the textile industry.At the anniversary celebration event, Mr. Huang Huade, the Chairman of DA.AI Technology, said, “Just like what Master Cheng Yen said, we utilize our best potential to benefit the needy, benefit our society, and benefit all human beings.” Green textile products are made from recycled PET bottles, which cut down both carbon footprint and water footprint. The making of one eco-friendly blanket uses four times less water than the production of a regular blanket. Therefore, in addition to the Carbon Footprint Certification received previously, TÜV Rheinland Group also presented DA.AI Technology with the world’s first Water Footprint Certification at DA.AI’s third anniversary celebration event.
"It takes 643 liters of water to make an eco-friendly blanket, (other vendors) use up to 2,700 liters of water in order to make just one cotton T-shirt. Therefore, the making of DA.AI Technology’s Eco Blanket reduces water consumption by at least 76% as compared to the production of a cotton T-shirt." The general manager of TÜV Rheinland Group expressed that currently, “water footprint of products” is a fairly new environmental issue, so Water Footprint Certifications that have been issued and published are very limited. In 2010, mainly electronic products were certified for their Water Footprint. DA.AI Technology is the first company to receive a Water Footprint Certification in the textile industry.
DA.AI Technology’s dedication to the environment and society are recognized by Taiwanese government officials, and they look forward to seeing DA.AI Technology become the paragon of Taiwan's green enterprises. Mr. Shen Shihong, the Director of Taiwan EPA, said: "DA.AI Technology has the most innovative business ethics, which is to care for people and society with compassion.” Mr. Huang Chungqiu, Deputy Minister of Economic Affairs, said: "Master Cheng Yen leads people with values and faith, and corporations can also take part in this effort in a very enthusiastic way."
At the anniversary event, Tzu Chi’s recycling volunteers also showed their creativity by bringing artworks they had created using recycled PET bottles. Discovery Eco-friendly clothing, the soft power of Taipei

To promote Taiwan’s soft power on global stage and feed back to the society are the few responsibilities of the entrepreneurs in Tzu Chi International Humanitarian Association. Among those issues, the Eco-friendly clothing which is made out of recycled plastic bottles has gained international attention. World well-known DISCOVERY channel crews came here today at Tzu Chi Naihu recycling station to record the making process of the Eco-friendly clothing.As the photographer busy videoing the process, the assistant behind him adjusts the microphone position, there is one foreign friend beside them focused looking at the monitor – she is the DISCOVERY program producer from international popular science channel. It is to introduce the Green Power industry in Taipei, she discovered the Eco-friendly clothing by Daai Technology co. Ltd. is very special and interesting story, therefore the crew is here at the recycling station to take some scenes.
Kate Siney, producer from ‘DISCOVER’ program said :’I choose Daai Technology because its continuity of doing the works that is eco-friendly to the environment and it is the best example in Taipei.’
Kate is respectfully inspired by neat works done by the volunteers contributed their hours to sorting the recycle plastic bottles by colours and piled them into stacks.
DISCOVERY channel program producer Kate Siney said:”I was very impressed to see there are many volunteer workers here, although Taipei is a metropolitan city with many people moving in and out, that shows everyone is concerned about our environment.’
Tzu Chi’s recycling work is well-known by lots of people, now the international media press see it too, hopefully the spirit and dedication to recycling work contributed by volunteers can spread out to everyone in the world.
Project Manager of Daai Technology Lee Dingnan said: ’Our volunteers have expressed the humanitarian culture sprite of unconditional love, from this interview which has combined the two (recycling and humanitarian culture sprite of unconditional love), through DISCOVERY channel which passes on our story to our overseas friends.’

DA.AI Technology Speaks Out to Low Carbon Green Living

DA.AI Technology, in response to EPA’s series of projects on green living and cities, attended the “Green Living Expo” held at Taipei World Trade Center from October 26 to 29. Taoyuan County Government came up with different themes to demonstrate the results of the green industry, and DA.AI Technology was invited along with National Chung-Li Home Economic and Commercial Vocational High School to present the “Clothing” theme with a fashion show. Through the efforts of Tzu Chi environmental volunteers, PET bottles are recycled, and manufactured into textile products by the integrated supply chain vendors.
Ex Vice President, Annette Lu, was also invited to deliver a speech on the press conference. She said, “Green living is the live style in the 21st century, and hopefully everyone can reduce the consumption of meat because the livestock industry is one of the main cause to global warming. Only through less meat consumption will Earth be relieved, and a future for a green 21." After the press conference, along with Mr. Shen Shihong, Director of EPA, Lu visited DA.AI Technology’s booth, and saw the efforts that the local industries have put in for green living and products.
In the expo, DA.AI Technology also exhibited the 10 products that were selected to exhibit in the Taipei World Design Expo 2011. Consumers could see the new designs with green textiles and also bring green living into their lives. In addition, DA.AI Technology hoped that through the exhibition and fashion show, the message of how wonderful green living can be was delivered to the consumers.

Recycling on the rise

It has been three years since the earthquake that devastated Sichuan in west China. Three years after the tragedy, homes and school have been rebuilt, and residents are getting on with their lives. Badly damaged Hanwang Town has been divided into nine villages and ten small districts. To keep up their work in the area, Tzu Chi volunteers are encouraging residents to recycle. The call to protect the planet and raise money to help other disaster victims, has produced a big response from the villagers.
四川大地震發生已經三年了，地震後，家和學校陸續重建完成，居民的生活也漸漸步入軌道，地震重創區，像漢旺，就分成九村、十個小區，志工在這裡展開環保宣導，要呼應居民一起做環保愛地球，也募心幫助需要的人，活動受到居民熱烈的響應。

Show of environmentalism at museum eng

Natural disasters have been blamed on climate change. That”s why the National Science and Technology Museum in Kaohsiung, Taiwan, is holding a special exhibition in partnership with Tzu Chi, to highlight the simple things we can all do to cut our carbon footprint. At the opening, the curator of the museum wore a Da Ai Technology t-shirt for the occasion.

TITAS: Clean Recyclables from the Origin Concept is Well Recognized

The fifteenth annual Taipei Innovative Textile Application Show was held on October 12 at the Taipei World Trade Center. It was the largest in recent years with a total of 345 companies, and 580 booths joining the festivities. Among them, DA.AI Technology also published its proud portfolio in the fashion show.
The exhibition contains three demands, which are functions, fashion, and concern for the environment. Various types of fiber, yarn, fabric, garment, and accessories are gathered for the exhibition, and it is one of the most important platforms for trade and exchange of new inventions for the local and foreign textile industries.
The goal for DA.AI Technology this year is to promote the concept of refined recycling and clean recyclables from the origin. The concept is to avoid resources wasted in the process of recycling, so if everyone can do an easy rinse or cleaning before the items become recyclables, then it would save a lot of cleaning resources. DA.AI Technology has learned a lot from the environmental volunteers, and hopes the industry will join with DA.AI Technology to implement environmental protection further.
During the exhibition, a visitor who also attended the show in 2007 was surprised by how much DA.AI Technology has improved in the past four years. Four years ago, the booth had barely anything to show but a concept and enthusiasm for environmental protection though recycled polyester. Today, DA.AI Technology made its concept tangible with a fruitful display. Among the visitors, Mr. Hsia visited the booth with a question that has been waiting for an answer since the 311 Japan Tsunami. He heard that the blankets DA.AI Technology sent to Japan for disaster relief is made from recycled PET. After the staff explained the manufacturing process, he got his answer, and was very touched by the work, and the love.

The first annual Taiwan Green Classics Award is sponsored by the Ministry of Economic Affairs’ (MOEA) Bureau of Foreign Trade and implemented by MOEA’s Green Trade Project Office. This year, 36 green products from 19 companies were chosen to receive the award in the “Green Classic Product” category, while 3 companies were chosen to receive the award in the “Green Classic Service” category.
DA.AI Technology and Taiwan Semiconductor Manufacturing Co., Ltd. are the only companies that received the award in both categories. DA.AI’s Eco Blanket received the award in the “Green Classic Product” category, while its concept of “extending an article’s life and creating blessings and wisdom” received the award in the “Green Classic Service” category.

Regardless of day or night, a large number of environmental volunteers are on the streets and every corner of Taiwan collecting recyclables. They even clean and sort the bottles, and by joining the power of the integrated supply chain, a professional manufacturing process was developed to turn recycled PET bottles into useful textile products. DA.AI Technology can never exist if it wasn’t for the environmental volunteers whom work behind the scenes quietly; therefore, in order to recognize their devotion, DA.AI Technology has created QR Code Tags, which will link to the individual stories of the volunteers. DA.AI Technology: The First Green Social Enterprise

Who would have thought the South Asian tsunami in 2004 unexpectedly gave birth to Taiwan's first green social enterprise, DA.AI Technology.
That year, Tzu Chi International Humanitarian Aid Association (TIHAA)visited the worst-hit Aceh, Indonesia, saw people of different skin colors, and religion beliefs, flew in from different parts of the world for only one sole purpose, which is to provide aid and relief to the victims, and as entrepreneurs, what more could have done?
After returning from Aceh, five Taiwanese industrial Tzu Chi volunteers refined TIHAA, which was set up in 2003, and created five functional groups. The functional groups are Food, Clothing, Housing, Transportation, and IT. With the five entrepreneurs as conveners of each functional group, TIHAA begin its work on the recycled PET project. They integrated the supply chain vendors from the textile/garment industry, combining PET bottles recycled by the Tzu Chi environmental volunteers, and created the eco-friendly blanket. This is the prototype of DA.AI Technology. As the chief convener, Walter Huang has devoted his full support in making it happened, and even set up a specialty department with listed budget.
But he soon discovered, "Tzu Chi has a huge amount of resources, the more I do the more anxiety I get. I realized that no matter how much fund, and manpower are put in, it is never fast or thorough enough.” As a result, the five conveners proposed to establish a profit-making enterprise with an unique business model that is different than others. The net proceeds will be donated to Tzu Chi Foundation. After raising enough fund, they proposed the project to Master Cheng Yen, and it took two years of endeavoring before Master Cheng Yen grant her approval. DA.AI Technology was finally born in December 2008.
In the past, TIHAA made recycled PET bottles into blanket for disaster reliefs, now, DA.AI Technology turn recycled PET bottles into various daily products including casual ware, baby ware, accessories, and etc.
Since its inception, regardless of the market value, DA.AI Technology continues to offer one dollar (NTD) above market price to purchase Tzu Chi recycled PET bottles. Therefore, the rumor that DA.AI Technology is successful because they get their recycled PET bottles for free is not well-founded.
Although the technology to manufacture recycled PET fabrics was developed since the inception of TIHAA, but the yield rate took two years to reach the high of 80%.
Developing everyday casual ware actually requires more considerations. DA.AI technology hopes to keep all of its products free from chemical dye so water consumption and toxic substances can be reduced. The lack of colors makes the product design more challenging, and the simpler the designs are, the more they cost to be manufactured.
In addition to Internet sales, the products made its way into Jing Si Bookstore last year. This year, DA.AI Technology will also launch its first physical store.
Every DA.AI product is labeled with the number of recycled PET bottles it is made from, the amount of water consumption reduced, and carbon dioxide emission saved. Some consumers are very cute, and they will ask questions such as whether if they can bring in their recycled PET bottles in exchange for products. Clearly, the average consumer is still unfamiliar with DA.AI products. In March, DA.AI officially introduced its Production History Tag on polo shirts, and hopefully, the tag will be seen on every DA.AI product soon.
As a pioneer in the green social enterprises, we hope that by seeing the successful story of DA.AI Technology, more people will be inspired and encouraged to join social enterprises.

Fabrics from recycled PET catching eyes at the 2011 Taipei International Sports Goods Exhibition

The Polyethylene terephthalate (PET) fabrics, derived from the recycled PET bottles, are permeable to perspiration and thus often applied to sports clothing. Some of the international buyers were quite curious about production of such pure fabrics from recycled PET in Taiwan. They were also highly interested in the entire process from recycling through manufacturing. They asked DA.AI TECH lots of questions regarding the recycling process and showed intention of further cooperation in the future.
Based on the statistics posted by the International Rayon and Synthetic Fibers Committee（CIRFS）, the carbon dioxide emitted from the process of producing polyester fibers from the recycled PET bottles was only 25% of the regular process. With this process, not only could we curtail the consumption of energy but also produce new textile materials. Reutilization of the recycled PET bottles is certainly one of the best demonstrations of the human efforts in appreciating and protecting the earth.
DA.AI TECHNOLOGY CO. is one of the few enterprises fully dedicated to green industry and charity activities. They have been promoting environment-friendly fabrics in recent years and have so far reduced 2.8 million kilograms of carbon emission, saved nearly 60,000 liters of petroleum consumption, 10 million liters of water and 130 million of PET bottles.

Recycled plastic bottle clothing draws attention to international media press at Taipei International Sporting Goods Show

On the white T-shirt there is a design of a white whale sending out message for help. The T-shirt is produced from Daai Technology out of recycled plastic bottles, as to make awareness on environmental impact. Media press from Japan came to cover this story.

The eco-friendly blankets of DA.AI TECHNOLOGY CO.,LTD. which have been distributed to thousands of disaster victims around the world, were awarded its official "race proof", pass the verification of renewable materials and less carbon footprint by TÜV Rheinland, not only prove that green blankets from raw materials to products made-to-measure the international environmental regeneration requirements completely, more proof Tzu Chi's recovery efforts with the international trend of reducing carbon emissions simultaneously.

3rd APEC Future Scientist Conference

The Green Miracle Inspiring Others in 2010 Taipei International Flora Exposition

During 2010 Taipei International Flora Exposition, Da. Ai Technology participated in the 2011 Spring FUSE fashion show held in an exhibition hall surrounded by walls made of PET bottles. Before show time, the visitors had filled the hall looking forward to seeing the textile products created with green resources.
Green Fashion Presented In Creative Ways
Da.Ai Technology, using recycled PET bottles as materials together with new technology, has created 18 pieces of clothings. Themes of flowers, natural elements, oriental essences, and feminine designs, etc. were presented in more creative ways than before.
Each piece of clothes is made from recycled PET bottles, making it 100% environmental friendly. It at least saves energy resources and carbon emission by 50%. Furthermore, a cool yarn called COOLCROSS was added to achieve fast sweat evaporation, good elasticity, and easy body movement.
Mr. Liu of Tzu Chi Foundation appraised the success, “In the earliest stage, we developed blankets made from recycled PET bottle frabrics and had sent out 400,000 pieces of them. Now we also developed re-PET bottles-made fashionable clothing. All in all, our daily necessities, especially clothing, not just blankets, can be made environmental friendly.
A Simple Primitive Color, A Partner of The Earth
On the stage, the beautiful models who wear clothes made by Da.Ai Technology move gracefully. Most clothes are black and white, and they include Polo shirts, casual wear, male and female suits, dresses, pants, shorts, and skirts. These fashions imply how much we love and cherish the Earth.
The wonderful catwalk shows together with eye-catching Green clothing had caught attention and applauses of countless visitors.
Mr. Chen, the designer of Da.Ai Technology said, “Our design shows during the International Flora Exposition are to tell audience how to be visible as an individual in a colorful surroundings . The answer is " Simplicity.”
He continued, “We kept the primitive color of PET bottles without dyeing. In addition, we added oriental essences to Western designs. How to perform the unique & graceful oriental style in Western design? In originality of design, we focus on every details; namely, a flounced skirt or crepe on skirt rim. On the trim perspective, we simply utilize the model transforming to represent women’s graceful fashion.”
One audience said, “I came to see Flora Exposition and happened to see these textile products developed by Da.Ai. Everything is simple but fashionable. Sure they matched young people’s taste. I myself had fallen in love with these clothing products.”
Educate People about the Mission of Environmental Protection
Mr. Chen, the designer,said, “ We want to educate consumers on how to cherish our Earth and this is our mission of design. Da.Ai Technology will donate all its business profits back to the society for charity causes.”
Before being involved with Tzu Chi, Mr. Chen barely knew about it. He only knew that Tzu Chi is a charity organization. He said, “Now I know Tzu Chi also tries to educate people about environmental protection, in addition to its charity work. Its charity mission has a broad base.”
Marketing volunteer Mr. Lee said happily, “I felt good about our performance during the Flora Exposition. Our clothing made the models look more charming. Furthermore, we let people know that our design concept is simplicity, naturalness, no overstatement. I think we have got what we wanted to achieve.”
Another designer Ms. Hong said, “ Tzu Chi’s motto is environmental protection, humanitarianism, and generosity. Therefore, our design concepts have to match these mottos too. It is not easy for this is not the same as general fashion designs. We hope Da.Ai Technology becomes a fresh face in fashion industry.”
Lee hoped that Da.Ai’s fashion products can suit people of all ages and all classes. Not only Tzu Chi volunteers, but all others will welcome Da,Ai’s Green fashions. And this is our priority at present.”
Admiration, Confidence, A Combined power
Several existing coordinating businesses also came to the fashion show.
Chairman Chen, the developer of clothes materials said, “ Greatly touched. Tzu Chi’s environmental protection has been a mission in the past 20 years. Many volunteers understand this is an urgently important mission and therefore had been working very hard to achieve this mission. We, the coordinating entities, of course would follow the steps, work hard to develop the products to help achieve the mission.”
Another Chairman Chen said, “I am very happy to see that this show has told people that recycled PET bottles can be made into beautiful clothing and many other daily necessities.”
After the earthquake and tsunami in Japan, President Chen Kao-Chin thought that we need everyone kindness to do good deeds together, he said:” Let’s follow Master Cheng Yen’s appeal to be vegetarian, and to do recycling as well. Sending Love and Care to Needy Ones in Japan
Mr. Liu said, “ Da. Ai Technology has sent out 5000 pieces of Green blankets to help Japanese people in disaster areas. We still have 17,000 pieces in inventory. We will send out 10,000 pieces of Green scarves to Japan next Monday. We may even consider sending out Green underwear to needy Japanese people.”
From a waste to a useful product, each piece of Green blanket is a result of Tzu Chi volunteers collecting 70 recycled PET bottles. They are soft and warm. The volunteers are in the progress of making hundreds of Green scarves for Japanese people in earthquake-stricken areas. Every volunteer is working round-the-clock in order to send out warm scarves to the people enduring freezing weather in Japan.
At present, shelters lack water, electricity, and food. Besides, the cold weather worsens the situation. Tzu Chi volunteers in Japan had overcome many difficulties to go into the disaster areas to provide hot food, blankets, and other needed supplies. In the cold snowstorm, Tzu Chi volunteers are like a lit candle shining in the dark, they have brought love, warmth and friendship to the Japanese people in need. Read more

Sending blankets & shawls to Japan

Blankets for tsunami victims

After the 9.0 magnitude earthquake hit Japan and caused a devastating tsunami in the country last Friday afternoon, Tzu Chi volunteers around the world mobilized to come to the aid of victims. Shanlin residents on conservation work

It has been more than a year since displaced victims of Typhoon Morakot moved into the Shanlin Da Ai Community located in Kaohsiung, Taiwan. With Tzu Chi volunteers by their side, many residents have come to understand the importance of conservation work, and now regularly sort recyclables in their community. Two days of the week, a recycling truck goes door to door to collect unwanted items from each household before taking them to the recycling station. Residents all say that only by living in harmony with the planet and cherishing all resources, will the beauty of nature return.

Going green at NATAS travel fair

First in the World:CV for environmental-friendly manufactured clothing

It is not unusal for agricultural products to have their production CV. Now what is unheard of, is that even textile products have their manufacturing CV.This environmental protection breakthrough happened in Taiwan. Da. Ai Technology Company has been able to make one piece of clothes by using 6 recycled PET bottles; moreover, each piece of clothes is attached with a tag depicting its manufacturing processes and its contribution to energy conservation and carbon emission reduction.
Da.Ai Technoloy Company’s Mr. Huang talked about company’s plans and expectations, pointing at a Manufacturing CV tag. He said that on March 12, last year, 6 PET bottles were taken from Tzu Chi recycle station, by August, the bottles were made into Da.Ai yarn, then in September, the yarn was turned into cloth, and then in January of this year, the cloth was become this piece of clothes . If you put on this piece of clothes, you reduce 145 grams of carbon emission, save 3c.c. of gasoline, and 510c.c. of water.
Mr. Huang continued . By putting one recycled 600 c.c. PET bottle in use, we reduce 24.2 grams of carbon emission, save 0.5 c.c. of gasoline, and 85c.c. of water. To confirm the effectiveness of environmental protection, Da.Ai Technoloy Company also has its other environment protection-related products undergo Control Union Carbon Footprint Certification.
Mr. Lee, the Executive Director of Da.Ai Technoloy Company and the creator of manufacturing CV, pointed out that many countries have done CV for agricultural and fishery products, as for CV for environmental friendly clothing, so far Taiwan is the only country that has done it. Thanks to Tzu Chi. Tzu Chi has had a complete recycling system in existence, namely, from recycling of PET bottles to washing and compressing them… plus technology. That is all about it, not difficult, just a heart of determination. This achievement is truly Taiwan’s glory.
Mr. Lee continued. The environmental friendly clothing has not yet been manufactured in great quantities; therefore, the recycling cost, the material retrieving cost and the R&D,etc. cannot compete with the regular clothing. Mr. Lee said it is the ideal they are selling. A manufacturing CV enables consumers to trace the product origins and its manufacturing process, and thus providing additional value to the consumers.
Da.Ai Technology Company promotes recycled, remade products, such as coats, scarves, hats, childen wear, socks, blankets,etc., about 10 kinds of products made from recycled PET bottles or recycled coffee powder. Turning trash into gold

In Taiwan, Tzu Chi's recycling mission is backed by some 67,000 volunteers who collect re-usable materials everyday turning trash into gold. But what exactly does that mean? Da Ai Eco clothing, the APEC future scientific conference uniform

Let’s not to underestimate the bag, inside every bag, an eco shirt which was made from recycled plastic bottles was placed and distributed to all as the uniform for 2011 APEC future scien conference. This idea came from Professor Zhaoming Fu, Department of Physics of National Taiwan University.

Professor Fu, Department of Physics of National Taiwan University commented, "If the concept of environmental protection has been well understood since childhood, one would consider permanent usage when developing a product. It is not enough to design the product only for short term or considering from single angle, as if many people said the technology was good, but they forgot about possible side effects.”
Professor Fu emphasized that the most updated scientific research is no longer just done in the ivory tower; it has to engage with environment and the concept of sustainable permanent usage. Hence, 2 key elements, environment and technology will then result in the most completed usage. Read more

2011,Jan.,Carbon Footprint Certifications from TÜV Rheinland Group, Germany

Carbon footprint represents the amount of greenhouse gas emissions, which measures the impact of human activities on global warming. Carbon footprint is measured using the equivalent carbon dioxide, or CO2, emission.
TÜV Rheinland Group’s Carbon Footprint Certification is an international carbon footprint certification. It places stringent standards on carbon emission of green products and regenerated raw materials, starting from the generation of raw materials, manufacturing, consumer use, to the end of product life cycle.
DA.AI’s regenerated chips and yarn have both received this certification. Thanks to the efforts of Tzu Chi recycling volunteers, the impurity rate of recycled PET is below 10 percent, which is much lower than the general 15 to 20 percent recycled PET impurity rate. This data demonstrates the purity of DA.AI’s regenerated raw materials. These regenerated raw materials not only reduce energy consumption, they also meet the international eco-regeneration standards.
Furthermore, Eco Blankets from DA.AI received the world’s first Carbon Footprint Certification given to blankets from TÜV Rheinland Group. The CO2 level emitted by a large Eco Blanket is 11 kg, and 7 kg for the small Eco Blanket. This great honor demonstrates international recognition of Taiwan’s green products.

Environmental volunteers-許江尾妹

Over 20 years ago, when Master Cheng Yen called on volunteers and members of the public to sort recyclables,
Xu-Jiang Weimei(許江尾妹) from Qishan(旗山) in southern Taiwan, took the words to heart and set up a recycling point next to her house. Now 75 years old, the elderly lady is still volunteering for the environment. Despite having a weak back, she has the same strong will. Moved by her example, her family members have all joined her mission to protect the planet.
