Holland Scholar Sees the Light of Environmental Protection in Taiwan

(Photo by: Shuhao Tsao)“Taiwan: The World’s Geniuses of Garbage Disposal” article by Wall Street Journal praised Taiwan transforming from an old garbage island to an “international recycling rolemodel.” Leiden University PhD student Dong Yunan is interested in Taiwanese recycling topic, and visited DA.AI to learn how Taiwanese industry has integrated environmental protection issue with advanced technology.

Dong Yunan said, “I am researching on Taiwanese recycling issue, look from the aspects of local culture and society, and how the issue relates to environment, economy, and culture in this diverse society. By understanding the relationship between man, nature, and substance, I can better grasp the concept of how different organizations, including community and religious groups, deal with waste material. DA.AI is a role model in Taiwan green industry, and thus, coming here I wish to know deeper of your ideology and mission.”

Integrating over 8,600 Tzu Chi recycling spots around Taiwan, DA.AI promotes the concept of environmental protection through education and green product. Later on, James, and DA.AI staffs Dr. Ting Hung and Irene Lin walk Dong through the Eco Concept Store and laboratory to explain how exactly we do it through the DA.AI brand.

DA.AI’s mission is to build a platform of environmental protection and charity, for everyone on this platform, including Tzu Chi environmental promotes, cooperatives, even consumers, to help to form this circle of love. In the end, with 100% net proceed fully donated to charity use, DA.AI wishes to invite everyone to contribute strength and lead every Earth citizen to “coexist with the Earth.”
