The "Hualien Green Living Month" officially kicks off on September 12th. This year's theme, "Transformation for Progress" (以蛻為進), symbolizes Hualien's metamorphosis and rebirth following environmental challenges, as it strives towards its vision of becoming an "international tourist city friendly to vegetarianism and green sustainability."

The unveiling press conference was held in Taipei, with Minister of Environment Peng Chi-ming, Deputy Executive Director Lin Ming-nan of the Ministry of Health and Welfare, and CEO Yen Po-wen of the Tzu Chi Foundation, among others, jointly attending to announce the full launch of a series of activities including green tourism, photography exhibitions, vegetarian markets, and a road race.

As Taiwan's only vegetarian road race, it fully implements low-carbon energy conservation from planning to waste reduction. One of the lead runners, "Vegetarian Heartthrob" Yang Tzu-yi, will also join in calling on the public to create a sustainable future through the power of running.
