Dr. Kandeh K. Yumkella, Director-General of the United Nations Industrial Development Organization (UNIDO), presented an award of recognition to DA.AI Technology Co., Ltd. (DA.AI) on the last day of the first annual Bahrain International Green Tech-Expo & Forum (Green-Tech EXPO). Dr. Yumkella visited DA.AI’s booth at the EXPO and praised DA.AI for their innovative green products. The first annual Bahrain Green-Tech EXPO was held on March 12 to March 15, 2012. It is a new trade show dedicated to the green consumer products and services. This is the only business-to-business trade show focused specifically on eco-friendly consumer products. There were a total of 101 exhibitors including two Taiwanese companies, DA.AI Technology Co., Ltd. and Chen Fong Environmental Engineering Co., Ltd.

DA.AI was invited to the EXPO by the Bahrain government during a ministerial visit to Taiwan early this year. Hsu Yunfeng, the representative from the Trade Mission of Taiwan to the Kingdom of Bahrain, and her colleague were deeply touched by the EXPO and thankful towards the efforts of Tzu Chi Foundation and DA.AI Technology Co., Ltd. in the field of environmental protection and recycling.

On March 16, 2012, Daily Tribune, the local newspaper, reported that “over 30 foreign companies are participating in this expo. Among the international displays, the one that interested even the layman is the displays of DA.AI. They used waste plastic to create fiber and from this fiber came blankets, coats, caps and others.”Larry Lee, a DA.AI volunteer, explaining details to a very interested audience.

DA.AI will leave their eco-friendly display products from the Bahrain Green-Tech EXPO with the Trade Mission of Taiwan to the Kingdom of Bahrain, in hopes that more people will be able to see them in Bahrain.

On March 17, representatives of DA.AI used the chance to promote Taiwan and Taiwan’s environmental protection efforts at a function with members of the Rotary Clubs of Bahrain. The organizers of the EXPO encouraged DA.AI to participate in this exhibition again next year, so that more people in Bahrain and around the world can learn more about this non-profit company.
