Taiwanese Entrepreneurs’"Blissful Lives Lecture” in Malaysia

On February 26, 2012, Buddhist Tzu Chi Foundation Malaysia (KL & Selangor Branch) held a seminar themed “The Blissful Lives of Tzu Chi Entrepreneurs” at Empire Hotel Subang and invited five prominent Taiwanese entrepreneurs to share their experiences with 350 Malaysian entrepreneurs from all over Malaysia about how to integrate charity into their businesses. It is their earnest wish that more local entrepreneurs will be inspired and come forward to create a life of good meaning and a loving society.

One Taiwanese speaker, Huang Huade, attributes his success to the teaching of Master Cheng Yen. He shares his joy of helping people with the audience. He hopes to instil Tzu Chi humanistic values into his company by encouraging his employees to participate in charity work. Mr. Huang Huade believes that a company can influence an employee and in turn influence a family and the community at large. He wishes that local entrepreneurs can come forward to contribute their capability and together make a difference in this world.

DA.AI Technology Co., Ltd. (DA.AI) also unveils its eco-textile products at the seminar. The brand name “DA.AI” incorporates the expertise of different supply chain vendors from the textile industry in the research and development of new functions for various types of recycled textile raw materials. These recycled textile raw materials have functions such as ventilation and moisture absorption, cooling and heating, odor resistant, static-electricity proof, water repellent and anti-radiation, etc. With “Eco Concepts & Green Living” as the theme, DA.AI plans to present a complete series of eco-friendly textile products and apparels. In addition to the development of eco-friendly apparel and everyday life products made from recycled fabrics, DA.AI is also a pioneer in integrating environmental protection and charitable work by turning recycled PET bottles into warm fleece blankets. Through Tzu Chi volunteers’ efforts, DA.AI has distributed over 450,000 eco-friendly blankets to people suffering from disasters in over 26 countries. These blankets not only give warmth to the suffering people, they also transform the love of the volunteers into concrete aid, thereby reflecting the concept of "extending an article’s life and creating blessings and wisdom.”

As a member of Tzu Chi International Humanitarian Aid Association (TIHAA), Mr. Wei Yingchong follows the mission of TIHAA to transform “business opportunities” into “charitable ventures.” In other words, they use their professional expertise to create eco-friendly products that will help with environmental protection. Mr. Wei Yingchong believes a company has the responsibility and ability to meet the various needs of society. Thus companies have the corporate social responsibility to intiate and inspire positive impacts to society. A successful entrepreneur should learn to contribute to society with acts of kindness and spread the seeds of love.
