Similarly, in Sabah”s Gaya Island in Malaysia, garbage has always been a part of the residents” lives. However in recent years, with the help of Tzu Chi volunteers, slowly the is land is cleaning up its act. Recently a local school also invited volunteers to give a lecture on recycling.
同樣的在馬來西亞沙巴亞庇的加雅島，多年來島上的居民與垃圾為伍，慈濟人來關懷，為島上的環保掀開新的一頁，日前當地一所中學也邀請慈濟人來說環保。
