The 2017 Energy Globe Award National Winner of Taiwan goes to DA.AI’s Recycle to Recycle (R2R) Project for the company’s effort to deal with leftover fabric throughout production, one of the biggest problems of modern textile industry. These leftovers are usually burned or taken away by waste management company for treatment. DA.AI Chairman, Walter Huang, attended the award ceremony in mid-October to receive this honor; he stated “DA.AI’s R2R technique uses none of the earth's gasoline resource, because everything comes from second round recyclables.”
The award jury praised DA.AI’s efforts on environmental protection. Austrian business representative Mr. Christian Fuchssteiner said, "DA.AI is a very special company which is not only devoted to reduce the amount of garbage, but also practice zero waste concept in community.” Fu furthered illustrated, “(European) countries like Austria, Germany and Switzerland, we always consider ourselves as the leaders in environmental technology; however, Taiwan has one of the highest rates of recycling contributed in the global waste recovery (circular) economy, which is quite amazing.“
