“Best for Taipei Challenge,” Making Taipei a Sustainable Living City

Taipei City government, cooperated with Asia Pacific B Corp Association (APBCA), has launched the “Best for Taipei Challenge following the series event in New York, and held press conference on April 24th, 2017. Taipei Mayor Ko Wen-Je, Taiwanese B Lab CEO Chang Da-Wei, DA.AI’s Chairman Walter Huang, O-bank Vice President Lo Yi-Jun, and other social enterprises witnessed this ceremony. Mayor Ko made a transoceanic connection with International B-Lab founder Bart Houlahan in the United States, and together, they lit up the opening torch and officially announced Taipei has become the first city in Asia to participate in the “Best for City” campaign.

Best for city's activity was initiated in United States that aims to promote better corporate management and business practice to make positive impact to society. The series of activities invites corporations to conduct self-assessment with questions regarding employee care, environmental friendliness, and community engagement. Through collaboration, companies can interact and learn from each other, and strive to become social enterprises that are “Best for Taipei” for the city’s sustainability, and eventually lead government, business, and individual to a win-win situation. A city fulfills the value of social justice, including labor, environment, community, and management with love and wisdom is the future expectation of Taipei.

B-Corp certified enterprise not only pursuits interests, but also shares value of Great Love, as DA.AI Chairman Walter Huang explained, "an enterprise is not evaluated by its scale, but rather how much it can contribute to the needy and suffering to implement Great Love for all being and gratitude for Mother Earth spirit.” DA.AI is a social enterprise that solves social and environmental problems with power of commerce, which also brings stable growth and sustainable development while fulfilling its corporate social responsibility (CSR). Only when corporates put benefits of all living beings and the environment before themselves then Taipei really transform itself into a sustainable and livable city of love.
