Taiwan is facing a social crisis of aging, which is why the government responded with Long-term Care Act 2.0 (LTC 2.0) in early 2017. Elder now accounts for 13% of Taiwanese population, and will likely reach 20% by 2025, impacting Taiwan’s health care system that needs to adapt facilities and policies to this “super-aged” social structure. The good news is that one-third of these elders may still be active to attend activities like community classes and volunteering works, or even the ability to take care of their grandchildren.
