According to Taiwan Environmental Information Association, each Taiwanese consumes 728 bags per year, and thus, over 18 billion plastic bags are consumed on this island annually. Adding to that, Taiwanese also consumes 4.6 billion PET bottles per year, an average of 200 bottles per person in a year. All these plastics are non-biodegradable, and burning them would only lead to an incineration process that releases large amount of air pollution and toxin.

Disposed plastic bags, bottles and caps are most common items found on beach. They do not decompose, but instead, damaging the marine ecology. This is not only causing environmental problem, but also ecosystem problem as many marine animals died from accidentally eating or being trapped by these man-made garbage. Thus, DA.AI revives recycled PET bottles and caps into functional products, wishing to deal with such problems and extend material life.

Not just eco-textile products, but DA.AI is also turning recycled PET bottles into Eco USB storage device, and recycled caps into Eco Stationery.
