Due to even terrain of southwestern Taiwan, the area is very suitable for farming and is therefore the country`s breadbasket. With the support of vast and complex irrigation networks, farmers here can access all the water they need to grow rice and other produce. Unfortunately, it is also due to these irrigation channels that all the fields are now at risk from industrial waste pollution. The problem is especially bad in Taichung and Changhua. Here is our report.
由於台灣的西南部，都是平緩的地型，因此非常適合農業發展，也因此這裡是全國的糧倉，透過錯綜複雜的灌溉渠道，農夫有足夠的水，可以種水稻還是其他農作物，不幸的是，也是因為這些灌溉渠道，讓這些農地，暴露在工業污染的威脅之下，台中及彰化的問題尤其嚴重，以下是我們的報導。
