Repaying kindness through volunteering during Thaipusam festival

Thaipusam is the biggest festival for Hindus after Diwali and usually falls in January or February. In Malaysia, celebrations take place on a grand scale at the Batu Caves attracting millions of devotees and tourists each year. As you can imagine, with such large crowds come large amounts of garbage. Hence, since 2010, under the request of the Selayang municipal council, Tzu Chi volunteers of the Kuala Lumpur and Selangor Chapter have been spreading the practice of recycling at the event.
