院生做環保Recycling good for the heart & body


For the past few years, every Wednesday morning at the Tzu Chi Guandu Grounds in Taipei, patients of the Yeantsy Halfway House have been coming to practice recycling with local volunteers. For many, the weekly activity has become a key in learning to face the world in a healthy way. 

過去幾年來,每周三早晨,在台北慈濟關渡園區,演慈康復之家的院生們,跟著慈濟志工做環保,對許多人來說,一周一次的活動,不僅讓他們學會融入,也能以健康的方式面對世界。

雲課桌椅毀壞+課桌椅再生銀行Giving items second lease on life


According to Yunlin County’s Education Department, nearly 60,000 students in the county are using broken, and therefore unsuitable, desks and chairs. However, due to a lack of funding, schools have been unable to purchase replacements. As an answer, the Yunlin County government set up a program in which all of its 186 schools, recycle and reuse second-hand desks and chairs from other cities and counties. 

根據教育處調查。雲林縣大約有六萬人多學生,目前還使用老舊毀壞的課桌椅上課,但是因為沒有資金,學校遲遲未能替換新的桌椅。為了解決這個問題,雲林186加國中小學成立了課桌椅再生銀行,接收來自外縣市的二手桌椅再利用,讓它們再延續物命。

大愛感恩科技將地球已經消耗的資源讓他再生,減少資源浪費及環境的衝擊,將這些視為垃圾 (資源) 賦予工業循環的生命,楊總讚嘆: 「這是一種正向、非常值得去效法和推廣,大愛感恩科技不僅是台灣的驕傲,也是全球的綠色產業的典範,也不只是單純宗教團體驕傲,而是一個人類精神、高層次行為的整體呈現。」大愛感恩科技也期盼這些理念能形成一個社會的影響力,讓環保推行到全世界。

頒獎典禮中經濟部 王運銘局長致詞表示:「『心態改變,行為就會改變,行為改變,世界就會跟著改變。』政府推動的能源政策目標為「永續」、「安全」、「效率」及「潔淨」,希望能提供大眾都付得起的低碳生活環境,塑造一個節能社會邁向綠色經濟的永續能源政策。」王局長指出總括用一個指標看「綠色效能」就是「節能減碳」,並說:「老子道德經中『人法地,地法天,天法道,道法自然』,其中“自然”在當今而言,應該就是指“自然能源 (資源)”。」

(Photo: Rod Liang)The Top Green Brand Competition hosted by the Business Next Magazine is one of the highest achievements for green brands in Taiwan, selected and evaluated by both experts and general public. This year, DA.AI Technology was awarded with the Top Green Brand of the daily necessity category, as well as one of the Top 3 Super Green Brands (the only from the textile industry), which represents the highest honor from the competition.


The Taiwan Ministry of Economic Affairs, Bureau of Energy Commissioner Wong said during the award ceremony that “World changes with our action, and our action changes with mentality. The Ministry of Economic Affairs wishes to promote sustainability, safety, efficiency, and cleanse, and eventually create an affordable low carbon lifestyle for all our people to choose from.” Wong further compared green efficiency with Taoism’s idea of nature, and stated that we should rely more on natural resources.

Such as the signature gray eco-blanket, not only it is made out of recycled PET bottles to reduce resource consumption and extend material life span, but was also sent out to disastrous areas around the world, carrying love and wrote many loving stories. Now that DA.AI is 5 years old with its own researching facility, and is looking to build an environmental protection education campus in Miaoli, hope to continue to be the role model of Top Green Brand of Taiwan.”

With recycled eco-material, DA.AI’s product saves up to 77% of carbon emission and 84% of natural resource consumption compare with product made by brand new material, and fits with Minister Wong’s idea of green efficiency perfectly. However, without fancy advertisement to promote consumption, DA.AI only promotes the idea of “eco-textile product as replacement for life necessities,” and wishes to pass out the touching stories of the grass-root environmental promoters to draw more people around the world to build a greener Earth together.
