日本玉川大學設計系師生來到內湖園區，透過與大愛感恩的交流，深入認識了解如何運用科技與創意，讓回收資源從 「再生」 走向 「再設計」，進一步實踐循環經濟。學生也體驗中重新思考：設計不只是創造一件產品，更能成為改變環境、守護地球的一股力量。

交流後學生分享此次親眼看到大愛感恩經由設計研發轉化為兼具實用、美感與環保價值的生活用品，深刻感受到 「永續」 並非遙遠的理念，也為未來的設計學習帶來嶄新的啟發。

尤其令設計專業師生印象深刻的是，大愛感恩不只有產品研發的 「硬實力」，更有一分以 「心」 為核心的設計 「軟實力」, 傳達慈濟四大志業為全世界的投入與付出, 這分將環保科技、人文關懷與愛的能量融為一體的實踐模式，也讓師生深感讚歎；因為更重要的是透過設計啟發人心，讓 「從心改變、從生活做起」 成為守護地球最長久的力量。

Tamagawa University Students Explore Circular Design at DAAI

Students and faculty from the Department of Design at Tamagawa University in Japan visited DAAI’s Neihu campus, engaging in an exchange that offered deeper insight into how technology and creativity can transform recycled resources from “regeneration” to “redesign,” bringing the principles of the circular economy into practice.

Through the visit, the students were encouraged to rethink the role of design. Design is not simply about creating a product; it can also become a force for transforming the environment and protecting our planet.

Following the exchange, the students shared that seeing firsthand how DAAI applies design and research to transform recycled materials into everyday products with practical, aesthetic, and environmental value gave them a profound understanding that sustainability is not a distant concept. The experience also opened up new perspectives for their future studies and design practice.

What particularly impressed the design students and faculty was that DAAI demonstrates not only the “hard power” of product development and technology, but also a “soft power” rooted in the heart. Through its products and actions, DAAI conveys the spirit of Tzu Chi’s Four Missions and its commitment to serving communities around the world. This approach brings together environmental technology, humanistic care, and the energy of love—demonstrating how design can go beyond function and aesthetics to inspire the human spirit.

Ultimately, the most lasting power of design lies in its ability to inspire change from within. By encouraging people to “change from the heart and start with everyday life,” design can become a lasting force for protecting the Earth and creating a more sustainable future
