Winter Clothing Donation Brings Great Love to Society

While families often purchase new clothes over the New Year period for children in the traditional Chinese culture, DA.AI understands that there are people in the dark corner of the society who are in much urgent need. With this Great Love for the less privileged, DA.AI joined the clothing donation program hosted by the New Human Being Association, where company staff gathered and donated winter clothing to children in orphanage and foster homes to bring warmth to their hearts in this cold winter of 2014/15 in Taiwan.

Lyu Yi Jing, a staff from DA.AI’s procurement department, took a trip back home to Haulien to pack clothes for donation over her New Year vacation. While going through her closet, Lyu Yi Jing found that she often purchase clothes out of impulse in the past, but not really out of a need. Thus, participating in this program made her realize that she should follow simpler life style in the future, reduce desire and help others in need. With help from staff like Lyu Yi Jing, DA.AI gathered together over 150 brand new sweaters, 30 jackets, and 40 pairs of pants - a total of 10 cartons of love.

This clothing donation program initiated in 2011, with a purpose of sending love to remote places and aid the disadvantaged groups in Taiwan; a very similar ideology to Jing Si Aphorism that “helping others with what we can is a demonstration of appreciation; if everyone can help each other, we can all live happily with contentment.” Hopefully with such meaningful program, we can bring more blessing and happiness to the society, and purify everyone’s heart to be content and filled with love.
