It is not unusal for agricultural products to have their production CV. Now what is unheard of, is that even textile products have their manufacturing CV.This environmental protection breakthrough happened in Taiwan. Da. Ai Technology Company has been able to make one piece of clothes by using 6 recycled PET bottles; moreover, each piece of clothes is attached with a tag depicting its manufacturing processes and its contribution to energy conservation and carbon emission reduction.

Da.Ai Technoloy Company’s Mr. Huang talked about company’s plans and expectations, pointing at a Manufacturing CV tag.  He said that on March 12, last year, 6 PET bottles were taken from Tzu Chi recycle station, by August, the bottles were made into Da.Ai yarn, then in September, the yarn was turned into cloth, and then in January of this year, the cloth was become this piece of clothes . If you put on this piece of clothes, you reduce 145 grams of carbon emission, save 3c.c. of gasoline, and 510c.c. of water.

Mr. Huang continued . By putting one recycled 600 c.c. PET bottle in use, we reduce 24.2 grams of carbon emission, save 0.5 c.c. of gasoline, and 85c.c. of water.  To confirm the effectiveness of environmental protection, Da.Ai Technoloy Company also has its other environment protection-related products undergo Control Union Carbon Footprint Certification.

Mr. Lee, the Executive Director of Da.Ai Technoloy Company and the creator of manufacturing CV, pointed out that many countries have done CV for agricultural and fishery products,  as for CV for environmental friendly clothing, so far Taiwan is the only country that has done it.  Thanks to Tzu Chi.  Tzu Chi has had a complete recycling system in existence, namely, from recycling of PET bottles to washing and compressing them… plus technology.  That is all about it, not difficult, just a heart of determination. This achievement is truly Taiwan’s glory.

Mr. Lee continued.  The environmental friendly clothing has not yet been manufactured in great quantities; therefore, the recycling cost, the material retrieving cost and the R&D,etc. cannot compete with the regular clothing. Mr. Lee said it is the ideal they are selling.  A manufacturing CV enables consumers to trace the product origins and its manufacturing process, and thus providing additional value to the consumers.
