In 2004, Taiwan launched its first remote sensing satellite, Formosat-2, which captures images on earth for the use of disaster prevention and rescue work. Besides domestic use, Taiwan also shares its satellite coverage internationally, offering valuable disaster prevention information to countries in need.
2004年，臺灣成功發射第一顆遙測衛星，福爾摩沙衛星二號提供空拍圖，作為防災搜救工作使用，除了臺灣自己使用也將珍貴的防災資訊，分享給其他有需要的國家。
