In order to prepare hot meals for Typhoon Haiyan victims in Tacloban, Tzu Chi volunteers rely on gas ovens, powered by propane. However, often in a disaster area, access to natural gas may be cut off, and for such occasions, Tzu Chi uses a rocket-oven, modified by Taiwan’s Industrial Technology Research Institute.
