DA.AI Eco Blanket Awarded of the 2018 Innovative Program of the Year

On the evening of May 8th US Eastern Time, American Tzu Chi volunteers received the award of 2018 Innovative Program of the Year, hosted by the National Voluntary Organizations Active in Disaster (National VOAD), for Tzu Chi’s “Love from Taiwan” eco blanket. There were more than 600 emergency relief organizations to witness the concept of DA.AI’s “Compassion Technology" during the ceremony.

Disaster often occur unpredictably, leaving many families in sorrow and scrambling for solutions and answers. National VOAD held the meeting in Providence, the capital of Rhode Island, and invited many emergency relief groups to share their experience. Tzu Chi also participated and introduced its charity philosophy and DA.AI’s eco mission. It was a great opportunity to connect with other peer groups and learn from each other.

US Tzu Chi volunteer Tzu-Hui received the glory from the hands of the National VOAD Executive Director Wood. Tzu-Hui said, “we are very grateful, through this innovative blanket, we give warmth to the suffering people and we also work together with the disaster relief volunteer organizations. Thank you very much. This award presented the love philosophy of Tzu Chi and Dharma Master Cheng Yen.” DA.AI was honored with the “Innovative Program” award for the blankets, scarves, shirts, and other items made from recycled plastic bottles and distributed in disaster relieve and charity missions for around the world.
