Purchasing locally grown food has many benefits especially on nutrients and energy-saving sakes. Local food takes up shorter time from harvests to our dining tables and is generally safer and fresher, while foreign food travels an average distance of 1,500 miles to reach consumer, and wastes lots of unnecessary energy on transportation.

Raising animal for food also raises environmental issue. Around 30% of land on Earth is now used to raise animal for food, which results in land degradation, biodiversity lost, air and water pollution, and water shortage. Believe it or not, scientists have proven that vegetarianism and reducing meat demand are the fastest and the easiest solutions to curb global warming. If you are already vegetarian, great! If you're still struggling, then we hope this link will help to find your reason to become one: https://goo.gl/KqojGq

Ethical eating is not only for our health and to nourish compassion, but also to ensure that our future and future generations can have a sustainable living environment. Since personal choice can prevent global warming and combat climate change, we urge for each of you to vigorously invite your friends, family, and colleague to participate in this event, which will be recorded by the United Nations. Please log on (http://www.earth111.org/) and sign up, and let the change starts today, and pledge to be vegetarian on January 11, 2017.
