Taiwan`s booming high tech industries rely on the import of precious metals to keep their businesses going. Since Taiwan has no precious metal mines and some of these vital metals can be extracted from electronic waste, the government came up with the idea of importing electronic waste as a way to harvest precious metals. However, Taiwan already has a problem processing the electronic waste it produces domestically, not to mention the pollution caused by such waste exposes all Taiwanese to serious carcinogens. Here is our report.
台灣的高科技產業，仰賴貴重金屬的進口，才能繼續繁榮下去，但由於台灣沒有金屬礦脈，而這些貴重金屬，又能從電子廢棄物中提煉出來，因此政府竟然認為，進口五金廢料，能夠做為貴重金屬的來源，但台灣本身已經沒有辦法，負荷國內製造的電子廢棄物，更別說相關的工業污染，可是讓全國人民都，暴露在致癌物，以下是我們的報導。
