In Taiwan, irrigation channels are controlled by sluice gates, which are turned on and off manually by people known as sluice gate controllers. These controllers are employed by the local irrigation association, and their job is to make sure each farm gets just the right amount of water without wasting a drop. We now meet two sluice gate controllers of the Chia-Nan(嘉南) Irrigation Association.
在台灣，灌溉的渠道是經由水門人工控制，這些人就叫做掌水工，是由每個地區的水利會聘用，工作內容就是確保每一塊農地都有足夠的水可用，但又不會浪費水資源，現在來認識嘉南農田水利會的兩位掌水工。
