The ninth national park of Taiwan, the Southern Four Isles, to the south of Penghu, is the country`s second marine national park after the Dongsha Marine National Park. The Southern Four Isles encompass some 370 hectares of land and 30,000 hectares of sea, which makes it a little bit bigger than Taipei City. Due to the extensive coral coverage of the park, it could potentially serve as a marine resources center that helps rehabilitate the marine ecology around Penghu and possibly even the nation.
台灣第九座國家公園，澎湖的南方四島，是繼東沙環礁群島後，第二座豐富海洋型國家公園，陸域面積約三百七十公頃，海域面積三萬多公頃，只比台北市大一點，但由於高比率的珊瑚覆蓋率，有可能成為海洋物種種原庫，幫助恢復澎湖海域，甚至是全台灣的海洋生態。
