The Tzu Chi Environmental Education Center inside the Shanlin Da Ai Community was the first recycling center Tzu Chi built amongst the permanent housings the charity has constructed to house those displaced by Typhoon Morakot. Now five years later, many new residents have learned to embrace and support Tzu Chi’s environmental mission, while some have also learned to use recyclables to help preserve their precious indigenous culture.
