剩食旅行二 食物浪費活用


Many people continue to be amazed by the fact that hypermarkets, supermarkets and convenience stores in Taiwan produce 116 million USD worth of food waste each year. Equally astonishing is that many of these items are thrown out simply because their packaging has been damaged, they appear imperfect, or are too ripe. These issues, however, don’t affect the nutritional value. To combat this issue, a number of government organizations and NGOs have established food banks to distribute these items and prevent waste. They also distribute these food items to poor families in need. Here’s more in our report.
