Shanlin residents on conservation work

It has been more than a year since displaced victims of Typhoon Morakot moved into the Shanlin Da Ai Community located in Kaohsiung, Taiwan. With Tzu Chi volunteers by their side, many residents have come to understand the importance of conservation work, and now regularly sort recyclables in their community. Two days of the week, a recycling truck goes door to door to collect unwanted items from each household before taking them to the recycling station. Residents all say that only by living in harmony with the planet and cherishing all resources, will the beauty of nature return.
位於台灣高雄的杉林大愛園區，鄉親入住已經屆滿一年多，在慈濟志工的陪伴，許多鄉親都了解做資源回收的重要性，並定期在社區裡做環保，每周有兩天的時間，會有環保車挨家挨戶的收集回收物，之後在載到環保站，鄉親們都說：唯有與地球和平共處，珍惜所有的資源，大自然的美才能夠回得來。
