Life changed after Tzu Chi

Volunteers from China are on a cultural exchange to Taiwan. On the third day of their trip, the team stopped at Tzu Chi’s Neihu recycling station. Among the participants is a senior from Zhejian’s Hangzhou, who before meeting Tzu Chi through her daughter, loved playing the stock market. Ridding herself of her gambling habits, the senior is now walking the Tzu Chi path and even donated a building to serve as Tzu Chi Hangzhou Liaison Office.

DA.AI, a Story of Great Love

CAPTION: The book We Leverage for Good has been published in August, and among 30 Taiwanese corporations mentioned, DA.AI was applauded for its unique environmental protection, charity, and technology platform. The Beginning of a Great Mission

“If they are all made out of crude oil, can we not turn recycled PET bottles into polyesters, and make them into textile apparels?” One of Dharma Master Cheng’s disciples, Walter Huang, heard her simple thought of protecting the Earth and consuming less energy, and started looking into the possibility of making the compassionate wish come true – this was the cradle of DA.AI Technology. “In the business world, we need to always consider the market, customer, and product variety; however, DA.AI is a combination of commerce and charity, turning what seems to be a business into charitable platform.” Worked in the textile industry for over 40 years, Walter Huang wishes to turn DA.AI into a model of Culture of Environmental Protection, Circle of Love, and Contribution to Society.

Global Recognitions

Over the history of the company, DA.AI continues to receive awards and certifications from global organizations, recognizing the company’s achievements and ideologies. For example, the signature product – DA.AI Eco-Blanket, received both Carbon Footprint and Water Footprint certifications from TUV Rheinland, and the Japan Eco Mark. Furthermore, the eco textile production chain with over 50 cooperative partners is also certified by Control Union, Global Recycle Standard certifications, and ISO 9001 and ISO 14001 from BSI. What’s even more amazing is that DA.AI received the first Cradle to Cradle Silver Certification in ASIA, with the ability of re-recycle its own PET fabric and turn it into valuable resource and product once again. Together with three consecutive years of Taiwan Green Classics Award, Taiwan Excellence Award, Made in Taiwan (MIT) Smile Logo on 421 products, National Environmental Protection Education Award, National Sustainable Development Award, and Corporate Social Responsibility Awards from several organizations, DA.AI’s goal is not only to lower Earth’s bearing, but also to become the global role model of green brand.

Purification from the Origin

“DA.AI is certainly Taiwan’s miracle; a small island we may be, yet many international groups came to visit and learn from what we have achieved,” Walter Huang said with joy, “it is one of the first corporations in the world with a core value completely based on environmental protection and global charity.” DA.AI’s 3C core values, Culture of Environmental Protection, Circle of Love, and Contribution to Society forms the uniqueness of the brand. It not only backs up Tzu Chi volunteers with gears and equipment out in disastrous area to provide safety and convenience, but also donates 100% of its net proceed to Tzu Chi Foundation for global charity purposes. This is certainly a role model of corporate social responsibility and fulfilling our duty as the world citizen.

Great Love from Everyone’s Contribution

“The world is full of disaster, everyone should pick up the responsibility, purify our heart, stable our society, and spread seed of love and goodness to the world.” Even though the industrial revolution brought human convenience and power of mass production, but also massive consumption and pollution. Following Dharma Master Cheng Yen’s teaching, Walter Huang took action and set a role model of how entrepreneur should contribute back to the society, “I was a rich, yet poor, person before I learned how to contribute; only through self-less contribution that I found real richness and joy in my heart.” DA.AI’s co-founder and general manager, James Lee, further added “the greatest power of DA.AI comes from Master Cheng Yen’s great vow, and we need everyone’s help together in making what seems impossible into possible.” DA.AI has initiated this platform of love and goodness, and is asking for everyone’s participation and Great Love together.
