In Malaysia, Tzu Chi volunteers across the country have mobilized to promote the right views regarding the seventh lunar month. They are asking residents to honor the deceased by refraining from burning joss paper, but practicing recycling and keeping a vegetarian diet instead. Such habits are slowly taking root, with one student from the Tzu Chi Academy in Bukit Mertajam even vowing to put her dog on a meatless diet.
