花蓮祈福會 & 印尼吉祥月Lunar July blessing ceremony in Hualien&teaching the Chinese in Batam

Traditionally, the Chinese believe the seventh lunar month is “Ghost Month” where ghosts are released from Hell to freely roam through the land of living. Thus extravagant offerings and joss paper will help entice these ghosts to do us favors. To break such unfounded superstition, the Tzu Chi Foundation is promoting this period as a time of gratitude, filial piety, and blessing. We will now take you to blessing ceremonies in Batam, Indonesia and Hualien, Taiwan.

傳統上華人社會相信，農曆七月是鬼月，鬼神在此時會從陰間來到陽間遊走，因此，民間會大肆祭拜、焚燒紙錢，尋求給予保佑，為了杜絕這樣的無稽之談，慈濟宣導農曆七月的正信、正念，是感恩、行善、吉祥之月，一起來看看印尼巴淡島和臺灣花蓮的吉祥月。
