Known as Ghost Month

According to Chinese culture, the seventh lunar month is also known as Ghost Month, during which extravagant banquets are held and large amounts of joss papers are burnt to honor the dead. However, for Buddhists, the seventh lunar month is a month of gratitude and joy. Recently, Singapore Tzu Chi volunteers visited community markets to teach the public how to observe the month in the correct manner.
