Like PET, return to our Pure Buddha Nature through Eco Practice

Each year, Tzu Chi Neihu Environmental Center hosts group visits of more than 15,000 people from different industry, government, academia, research and media groups worldwide. By the beginning of 2018, the Neihu eco exhibition hall was established within the station after several months of preparation, which not only fully demonstrates DA.AI’s eco production process, but also fulfills its environmental humanity and education mission.

Over a hundred volunteers mobilized and spent their time throughout the expo preparations, only wishing to establish an advanced eco-site for group visits. After nearly a month of preparation, the volunteers guided visitors to experience the mini demonstration of eco fabric production and learn how to turn plastic bottles into blankets. Dharma Master Cheng also visited Neihu and was moved by all the volunteers’ work. The production process was designed to be linked by electrocardiogram that symbolizes the heartbeat of Earth. At the early stage, heartbeat was weak because people did not know the importance of environmental protection. This problem was solved as Dharma Master Cheng Yen urged for environmental protection action, and that DA.AI started eco practice to bring Earth’s heartbeat back to a steady and healthy tempo.

Recently, Dharma Master Cheng said that "life is like PET. PET bottles are made for everyone to use. Just as everyone has Buddha nature within, as transparent as PET; however, the purity has been polluted and wisdom has been concealed. Retrieve PET bottles, clean, sort, and weave them into eco blankets, this process symbolizes the returning to our Buddha nature of pureness, so we can comfort the sufferings like the blankets.” In response to Master’s teaching, one of the exhibition themes was for visitors to see Tzu Chi's selfless love that soothe sufferings in the world.
