De La Salle University was founded in 1911, it is a first-class Catholic Philippines school, and ranked second among top 500 universities in the country. Moreover, it is a sister school with the Tzu Chi University since April 7th, 2016, and visited Tzu Chi during this trip to better understand its spirit.

DA.AI started its presentation by bringing everyone’s memory back three years ago, when Tzu Chi’s assisted Tacloban City in the Philippines after the great Typhoon Haiyan. Tzu Chi volunteers revived the city through the “Cash for Work” method, and helped the local residents to rebuild their land. It not only helped residents to clean their homes, but also resumed children’s education by providing prefabricated classrooms, and, at the same time, rebuilt damaged schools. Tzu Chi Foundation helped disaster survivors find ways to rebuild their homes, as well as brought new hope to their hearts.
