Tzu Chi’s relief efforts in Bangladesh back in 1991, marked its first step towards international disaster relief. To date, Tzu Chi has helped more than 70 countries worldwide while upholding the principals of directness, priority, respect, timeliness, and practicality. Whether it is offering emergency medical assistance or long-term relief, Tzu Chi volunteers and TIMA personnel hope to provide timely assistance to places where help is needed most.
1991年慈濟援助孟加拉水患，從此揭開國際賑災的序幕，至今已經援助七十多個國家，同時秉持著慈濟國際賑災，直接、重點、尊重、及時、務實的賑災原則，無論是緊急醫療援助或是長期救援，全球志工以及醫療團隊的實地付出，希望及時幫助需要幫助的角落。
