Recycling electronic waste is actually a lucrative business, because precious metals such as gold, silver, and palladium can be extracted and then sold for money. In fact, up to one kilogram of gold can be extracted from about ten thousand personal computers. As we reported yesterday, the residual waste that remains after all the extractions are complete is very toxic and therefore should be discarded by enclosing it in concrete.
